FRAUD in the Community Redevelopment Agency

A detailed Story Exposing Fraud at the Rivera Beach / Singer Island CRA.

With the help of a few good sources along with their extensive forensic accounting report, this story was compiled detailing the fraudulent practices of this government agency.

Fraud included:

A former executive director who wrote his own checks.

Personal use of company credit cards.

Over $9 million paid to consultants, contractors, attorneys as well as consultants to oversee consultants for unnecessary work.

As well as a complete conflict of interest as city council members appointed each other board members of the CRA.

SWAT Raid Gone Wrong

An over zealous SWAT team led by an incompetent police chief and sergeant, storms the apartment of an innocent family.
Confronting the sergeant at the police department, he refused to disclose any details.  I tracked down the location, a local run down apartment building. Scanning each and every door to see which was either damaged or newly replaced, I slipped my card under the brand-spank’n new door.

A call from the family produced this award-winning story.
